HOW TO GET HERE
You will need a car to get to Ripostena Country House, as the area is not served by public transportation. The last 2.5 km are on a gravel road. There is plenty of free guest parking available. The nearest airports are Florence (1 hour) and Pisa (90 min). Other nearby airports include Bologna (2 hours) and Rome (3 hours). To reach us, we suggest you follow the detailed directions below: don’t forget to print them out and bring them with you!
From Milan/Bologna/Florence
Exit the motorway at the Firenze Impruneta exit (formerly called Firenze Certosa). At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Florence-Siena highway, in the direction marked SIENA. Exit at Colle Val d’Elsa Sud and follow the directions below. From the Colle Val d'Elsa Sud exit
From Pisa
Take the highway referred to as FI-PI-LI (or SGC Firenze-Pisa-Livorno) towards Florence. As you approach Florence, turn onto motorway A1, in the direction marked FIRENZE/ROMA. Take the Firenze Impruneta exit (formerly named Firenze Certosa). At the roundabout, take the first exit onto the Florence-Siena highway, in the direction marked SIENA. From Naples/Rome
Take motorway A1 in the direction marked FIRENZE/MILANO. Exit at Val di Chiana-Bettolle, then take the Siena-Bettolle highway in the direction marked SIENA. As you approach Siena, follow the directions for Tangenziale/Firenze/Grosseto, and continue following the directions for FIRENZE. Take the Firenze-Siena highway in the direction marked FIRENZE; exit at Colle Val d’Elsa Sud and follow the directions below. From the Colle Val d'Elsa Sud exit
From the "Colle Val d’Elsa Sud" exit
From the Colle Val d’Elsa Sud exit on the Firenze-Siena highway, head in the direction marked Colle Val d’Elsa. When you come to the first roundabout, take the second exit, continuing along the SP541 road in the direction marked Grosseto. At second and third roundabouts, take the second exit, marked Grosseto, and continue along the main road for about one more kilometre. Then turn left in the direction of Scorgiano, onto the SP101 road. At the next junction, 350 metres farther along, turn right, still following the signs for Scorgiano. After about 4.5 km on this road, once you have come through the village of Scorgiano, turn right in the direction marked Ripostena. Continue along this road for about 3 km until you see a sign on your left marked “Ripostena”. Turn left onto the gravel road, and continue for about 2.5 km to the gates of Ripostena Country House.
